Refund policy

How refunds work for instantly-delivered digital licence keys.

Last updated: [PLACEHOLDER: set the effective date when this policy is finalised]

What you buy from Tyr Scripts is a digital licence key, delivered instantly to your account once payment clears. That instant delivery changes how refunds work compared to a physical product.

1. EU right of withdrawal and digital content

EU consumers normally get a 14-day right of withdrawal on online purchases. EU law also allows that right to be waived for digital content that starts before the 14 days are up, if the buyer explicitly consents to immediate delivery and acknowledges they lose the withdrawal right by doing so (Directive 2011/83/EU, Article 16(m)).

Confirm with a lawyer that checkout actually captures this explicit consent/acknowledgement (e.g. a required checkbox before payment), and insert the final policy stance here once confirmed. Without a valid consent capture, the standard 14-day withdrawal right may still apply.

2. When we do offer a refund

Placeholder — real policy text needed

Insert the concrete list of refund-eligible situations decided on — likely candidates: payment charged but no key ever provisioned, duplicate charge for the same order, and provably non-functional script with no fix available within a stated window. Confirm the exact stance and any time limits.

3. When we don't offer a refund

Insert exclusions — likely candidates: change of mind after key delivery, HWID reset requests treated as a separate process rather than a refund, account bans on the third-party game/platform, and abuse of the refund process itself.

4. Patched or updating scripts

If a script goes patched during your licence period, time isn't automatically refunded — patches are usually temporary and sales simply pause until a fix ships.

Insert the actual policy for extended outages: is there a threshold (e.g. patched for more than N days) where a refund or extension is offered automatically?

5. How to request a refund

Placeholder — real policy text needed

Insert the request channel (support email/Discord), what information to include (order reference), and the expected response time.

6. Chargebacks

Placeholder — real policy text needed

Insert the consequence of filing a chargeback instead of requesting a refund directly (e.g. immediate key revocation, account suspension) — common in this industry but must reflect an actual, enforceable policy.

7. Your statutory rights

Placeholder — real policy text needed

Insert a statement that nothing in this policy limits statutory rights consumers have for non-conforming/faulty digital content under Dutch/EU law — these can't be waived by a store policy.

8. Contact

Insert the contact channel for refund requests.
